Ontario's Parks & North
This gallery has images from various photo trips in the province of Ontario, Canada. One was a two-week trip through the rugged Ontario North photographing autumn colours. We drove from Niagara, north to Sudbury, then west on the Trans-Canada highway to Sault St Marie, then north along the east coast of Lake Superior, then west, all the way to Thunder Bay. The weather was sometimes overcast and cool with a dusting of light snow when we woke on one morning. In late September, the northern Ontario holiday season is already over, but the autumn colours are just coming into full array. Once you get to the north shore of Lake Superior there are few red maple trees, but the birch and aspen trees turn golden amongst the evergreens. There are parks, lookouts and quaint towns along the way. A must trip for anyone who enjoys rugged, natural beauty.
